3D technology adds a captivating dimension to websites and projects, setting them apart from the rest. It can be used to provide customers with a detailed view of a product, highlight a design, or create a 360º visual experience.

With this integration now available, you can start crafting visually stunning 3D designs and immersive scenes for your customers today.

Take your business worldwide with Localization

To effectively cater to their global customers, businesses must customize their websites based on their target markets. However, current solutions either rely solely on developers or have significant drawbacks in terms of design control, organic discoverability, and high costs.

Introducing Webflow Localization. We have developed Localization to empower businesses of all sizes to personalize their sites for visitors from around the world. This feature has been highly demanded by the community, and over the past year, we have dedicated ourselves to providing a comprehensive solution to this complex problem.

With Localization, you can:
- Seamlessly customize every aspect of your site for specific locations, from design to content, without the need for coding.
- Take advantage of machine-powered translation through our partner apps like Lokalise, or integrate with your preferred translation management system (TMS).
- Boost global traffic through top-notch SEO, including customizable subdirectories and metadata, as well as localized sitemaps.

Localization is currently available for Enterprise customers and partners, and will be accessible to all customers starting next month.

Style with control, faster and stay on brand with variables

Design systems are renowned for their ability to significantly enhance productivity. By creating a shared component that can be effortlessly reused in various scenarios, designers can operate with heightened efficiency. This not only simplifies and expedites the design process, but also guarantees a seamless experience for users.

Now, Webflow is introducing the unparalleled flexibility of design systems to Webflow with the groundbreaking addition of variables. Variables empower you to effortlessly store values such as colors, fonts, and sizes without the need for complex coding. When modifications are made to a variable, these changes are automatically applied throughout your entire site. With variables, you can streamline your design work and maintain unwavering consistency throughout the entire building process. Variables are now readily available in the Designer.

Support for custom CSS properties

For projects that demand enhanced control over styling, Webflow is actively developing a feature that empowers you to incorporate custom CSS properties and value pairs into your style elements within the Webflow Designer. This seamless integration of styles into your classes and tags streamlines the process of customizing your design on a broader level.

Components got an upgrade

Webflow is enhancing the power and usability of components to help you create more cohesive websites. Whether you are managing a main component or working with a component instance on the canvas, it is now easier than ever to set up and manage customizable properties within your component.

Starting today, you will have a straightforward process to create and delete properties. Additionally, you will have clear action items for linking properties and elements. Their new side panel simplifies the editing process for content editors by displaying only the component properties that they can modify.

Teams using components will also benefit from the new addition of slots. Slots are customizable placeholders within a component that provide flexibility from the beginning. They allow component creators to modify the structure of a component by placing any element or component within the slot. With the launch of slots, components in Webflow are now more similar to the power of true React components. Slots will be available to all customers within the next few months.

Webflow ecosystem extends

Just a few weeks ago, Webflow introduced the next generation of Webflow Apps that brings the full power of Apps directly into the Designer. Apps can now enhance your workflows by allowing you to add and edit site elements such as forms, images, and text in real-time. Moreover, you can now easily integrate with the tools your team uses daily, including HubSpot, Unsplash, Jasper, Finsweet, and Memberstack.

Today, they have even more Apps available in the Marketplace, including Finsweet's new Wized App, Better Shadows, and a new localization App from Lokalise. Give the Webflow Apps a try here.

Next level developer platform

Beyond the benefits that Apps provide for managing and building sites in Webflow, our updated developer platform offers even more powerful products for our rapidly growing community of agencies, freelancers, and marketing teams.

In August, they introduced Designer Extensions — a new building block for Apps powered by Webflow Designer APIs. This allows developers to build Apps that directly interact with a site's Canvas. Webflow also made significant updates to our REST APIs, enabling developers to integrate their products with more of Webflow's core features such as Forms, Assets, Pages, and Custom Code.

At their conference, they were introducing three new APIs that enable developers to leverage our latest features. The first is a suite of Component Designer APIs, which allow developers to add, bind, and manage components on a Webflow site. Webflow is also releasing a new Variables Designer API for defining and managing variables like color, font, and size.

Additionally, next month they will release a Localization API for integrating third-party Translation Management Systems with Webflow.

Synching between Figma and Webflow
source: webflow.com

Earlier this year, Webflow introduced the Figma to Webflow plug-in, which enables you to easily transfer your designs and wireframes from Figma to Webflow.

Now, they're making the design to build process even simpler with new functionality that automatically imports your Figma components and their associated variables into Webflow. As your designs evolve in Figma, you can effortlessly sync those changes to Webflow with a single click.

The enhanced Figma to Webflow plug-in, along with its companion Webflow App, will be available in the coming months.

Importing React components with DevLink

DevLink confidently empowers developers to effortlessly export Webflow components to their React environments. We are excited to announce that we are now expanding DevLink to offer a new and innovative feature, enabling customers to seamlessly incorporate React-built components into their Webflow sites. With this enhancement, you will have the incredible ability to create a vast array of components, including dynamic and data-connected elements like store locators and full-stack applications. Get ready to unlock endless possibilities with DevLink!

Improved flow for collaborating
source: webflow.com

Collaboration is absolutely essential for maximizing speed to market and efficiency for teams of all sizes. Over the past year, we have made substantial investments to further enhance teamwork in Webflow.

The recent introduction of the commenting feature empowers you to receive prompt feedback directly within the context of your project, greatly facilitating progress. Moreover, the implementation of the free commenter role allows specific teammates to have 'comment-only' access in Webflow. Furthermore, Webflow has successfully incorporated a new content editing environment that enables marketers, copywriters, clients, or any other team member to effortlessly modify and publish content in a simplified and secure manner.

Another notable enhancement is the introduction of new publishing workflows, which provide increased visibility into proposed updates and offer you peace of mind prior to publishing.

Looking ahead, Webflow remains fully committed to enhancing the capabilities of page branching, one of our most widely utilized Enterprise features. This will empower team members to test branches more efficiently with a dedicated approval process. Additionally, we are actively developing a new method for less technically inclined teammates to independently create new pages using components that have been approved by the designer.
